JOHN POWER (Cast, The La’s)

Take one glorious summer’s night, a stunning big top, great beer, delicious food - and throw in music from one of the best performers around - and you’ve got a perfect evening of entertainment right in the heart of Norwich city centre.

And all of this will come true on Wednesday, July 28 when John Power (Cast) performs in an intimate, acoustic show in the big top in Chapelfield Gardens.

Common People Norwich have teamed up with the people behind the Red Card Comedy Club to put on a fantastic evening of music from Power, plus support.

Power, accompanied by Jay Lewis (The La’s), has acquired a reputation over the last few years for putting on a barnstorming acoustic show, featuring lots of favourites from both Cast and his successful solo career.

Having first made his mark on the UK pop scene in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s with the renowned Liverpudlian quartet The La’s, Power left the group to form a new group called Cast. Their first two LPs, All Change and ‘97’s Mother Nature Calls both sold over 1,000,000 copies.

Food stalls and bars will be open before the gig and the event will follow all of the latest covid guidance.

Common People Norwich host 90s themed events and gigs with previous guests including Steve Lamacq, Rick Witter (Shed Seven), Bez (Happy Mondays) and more.
